Who we are
Xoriyo Foundation (XF) is a Somali non-governmental and non-profit organization established in 2020 in Kismayo, Somalia to support communities affected by conflict, climate shocks, poverty, and limited access to essential services. The organization works to improve the lives of vulnerable populations through sustainable humanitarian and development programs.
We started extending help to needy children and youth who were eager to study and work for a better life. This moment intensified when we found that there were many such underprivileged children who needed help with food, shelter and education. Our team expanded and we spread out in different regions to make sure we cover all possible areas and help as many children as possible.
We now run shelter homes, schools and a reasonable Xoriyo Foundation focuses on empowering women, girls, youth, and marginalized communities while addressing urgent needs in health, education, food security, water and sanitation, and social protection. Through community-centered approaches, the organization promotes resilience, self-reliance, and inclusive development.
Since its establishment, Xoriyo Foundation has implemented programs that support access to education, healthcare, clean water, livelihood opportunities, and protection services, reaching vulnerable individuals and families across Somalia.
Education Support and School Development
The Xoriyo Foundation is committed to strengthening access to quality education through the construction, rehabilitation, and support of local schools across the Gedo Region. These efforts are designed to create safe, inclusive, and effective learning environments for children and young people.
School Infrastructure Development
The foundation has supported the establishment and improvement of several schools, ensuring that students have access to proper classrooms, basic facilities, and a conducive environment for learning.
Learning Resources and Support
To enhance the quality of education, schools have been equipped with essential learning materials, including textbooks, furniture, and basic supplies. This support helps both students and teachers maintain consistent and effective learning processes.
Teacher Support and Capacity Building
Recognizing the importance of educators, the foundation provides support to teachers through training opportunities and essential resources, contributing to improved teaching standards and student outcomes.
Impact on Students and Communities
Through these initiatives, hundreds of students—especially girls—have gained improved access to education. This has contributed to increased school attendance, stronger academic engagement, and greater confidence among learners.
These efforts reflect the foundation’s broader mission to promote sustainable development by investing in education as a key driver of long-term community growth.
